Use this guide when a connected social account is disconnected, expired, or no longer needed in SocialBu.

Reconnect a social account

Some social accounts can become inactive when a token expires, permissions change, a platform revokes access, or the account password/security settings are updated. Reconnecting refreshes the authorization so SocialBu can use the account again.

Find disconnected accounts

  1. Open Accounts in your SocialBu dashboard.

  2. If you do not see the account in the main list, click Show Inactive.

  3. Open the disconnected account from the list.

Steps to reconnect

  1. Click Reconnect in the account edit window.

  2. Sign in to the correct social platform account when prompted.

  3. Grant all requested permissions.

  4. Complete any account-selection step if the platform asks you to choose a Page, Organization, Brand, YouTube channel, Google Business Profile location, or other managed asset.

SocialBu builds the reconnect link from the account's provider and includes the existing account ID, so the new authorization can be matched back to that account. For YouTube accounts, reconnect uses the Google authorization flow with the YouTube service selected.

Note: If reconnect is not available for a provider or the provider flow cannot match the existing account, SocialBu may ask you to re-add the account instead.

Remove a social account

Remove an account only when you no longer want to manage that profile, page, channel, location, or community in SocialBu.

Steps to remove an account

  1. Open Accounts in SocialBu.

  2. Click the social account you want to remove.

  3. Click Delete.

  4. Confirm the deletion.

What happens after deletion

  • The account is removed from SocialBu.

  • You cannot schedule, publish, automate, analyze, or manage content for that account unless it is connected again.

  • Workflows that depend on that account, such as posts, queues, automations, inboxes, or reports, may stop working or no longer include that account.

  • If the account was shared with a team, removing it also removes that connected account from team workflows that used it.

To use the same account again later, add it again from Accounts > Add and complete the platform authorization flow.
