This guide explains the current SocialBu AppSumo lifetime deal, what each license tier includes, how usage limits work, and what happens when you activate, upgrade, downgrade, refund, or switch your license.
Important: The limits below apply to SocialBu's current three-tier AppSumo configuration. If you bought SocialBu through an older AppSumo campaign, the terms shown in your AppSumo purchase may be different. Your redeemed license and its original deal terms remain the reference for your account.
Current AppSumo plan limits
Features included in each tier
Social network capabilities still depend on the network, connected account type, permissions granted by the network, and the data that network makes available. A plan including a SocialBu feature does not mean every network supports every post format, inbox item, listening source, or analytics metric.
What the limits mean
Connected social accounts
A connected account is a social profile, Page, channel, location, or other supported network destination linked to SocialBu. The allowance applies across the plan owner's account and Team resources.
Monthly posts
The post allowance counts posts published during the current calendar month across the owner's connected accounts. A post sent to more than one connected account can create a separate published post for each destination. The monthly count resets when a new calendar month begins.
Teams and members
The Teams limit is the number of Teams the plan owner can create or own. The member allowance applies separately to each Team. Use Teams to group connected accounts and give invited people the permissions they need.
Publishing queues
A queue is a reusable publishing schedule with recurring time slots. The queue limit applies across queues owned by the account owner and their Teams.
Automations
Tier 1 does not include automations. Tier 2 supports up to 30 automations, and Tier 3 supports up to 150 automations. SocialBu does not currently enforce a separate monthly automation-execution quota on Tier 2 or Tier 3. An automation can still be affected by network restrictions, disconnected accounts, missing permissions, or limits on the feature it uses.
The legacy RSS feed allowance is zero on all three tiers. This is separate from Curate feeds. Tier 2 and Tier 3 can use the included automation-rule allowance for supported non-RSS automation workflows.
AI credits
AI content generation, composer autocomplete, and saved snippets are available on all three tiers. AI actions consume credits from the plan owner's monthly allowance. Different AI operations may consume different amounts. Credits reset monthly and unused credits do not roll over.
Listen streams and matched items
Listen is available on Tier 2 and Tier 3. A stream defines what SocialBu should monitor. Matched listening items count the items collected by the owner's personal and Team streams during the current month. Collection pauses when the monthly matched-item allowance is exhausted and resumes after the monthly reset.
Curate feeds
Curate is available on Tier 2 and Tier 3. Curate feeds are content sources created under the owner or their Teams. Curate feed limits are separate from the legacy RSS feed allowance used elsewhere in SocialBu.
Respond, API, MCP, and analytics
Respond, API access, and MCP access are included with Tier 2 and Tier 3. Tier 1 does not include them. All three tiers have access to basic analytics, but advanced analytics is not included in the current AppSumo tiers. Respond and analytics coverage varies by social network and connected account type.
How to activate your AppSumo license
Open SocialBu from the activation or redemption link in your AppSumo purchase.
Allow AppSumo to verify the license and redirect you to SocialBu.
Enter your name, email address, and a password on SocialBu's activation page.
If a SocialBu account already uses that email address, enter the existing account's password. SocialBu will link the verified license to that account.
After activation, SocialBu signs you in and applies the plan associated with your license tier.
Do not share your AppSumo license key publicly. If activation fails, contact support with your SocialBu email, AppSumo purchase email, tier, and order information. Send the complete license key only through a private support conversation when requested.
Where to see your tier and usage
Open Settings in SocialBu to see the current plan name and available usage indicators. You can also open My Purchases in AppSumo and select SocialBu to confirm the license tier and original deal terms.
If the tier shown in SocialBu does not match the active license in AppSumo, contact SocialBu support before creating another account or redeeming the license again.
Upgrades, downgrades, refunds, and switching plans
Upgrade or downgrade an AppSumo tier
Tier changes must be completed through AppSumo while AppSumo makes that option available. After AppSumo confirms the change, SocialBu receives the updated tier and applies its limits to the account linked to the license. SocialBu cannot manually stack extra codes or create a higher AppSumo tier outside AppSumo's supported flow.
If a downgrade leaves the account above a new limit, some excess Teams, Team members, connected accounts, queues, automations, streams, or feeds may become unavailable or be disabled. Reduce usage before downgrading whenever possible.
Refund or deactivate a license
When AppSumo deactivates or refunds a license, SocialBu removes the AppSumo plan from the linked account. Access to paid features and resources can stop. Contact AppSumo for purchase and refund eligibility questions, and contact SocialBu if AppSumo shows an active license but SocialBu does not.
Move to a regular SocialBu subscription
An active AppSumo plan is tied to its license. Contact SocialBu support before moving to a monthly or yearly subscription. Regular plans have different names, feature access, limits, and billing terms. Confirm the replacement plan before giving up lifetime access because the AppSumo plan may not be restorable after the license is deactivated.
Frequently asked questions
Are SocialBu AppSumo lifetime deals still available?
AppSumo deals are limited-time offers. Check AppSumo for current purchase and upgrade availability. SocialBu cannot sell or add an AppSumo license directly when AppSumo no longer offers the deal.
Does โlifetimeโ mean my personal lifetime?
The license follows the lifetime terms shown in the AppSumo offer, generally for the lifetime of the product and subject to the deal terms and SocialBu's terms of service. Review the wording attached to your purchase in AppSumo.
How many AppSumo tiers does SocialBu currently support?
The current SocialBu AppSumo configuration supports License Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3. References to Tier 4 or higher do not apply to the current configuration.
Can I stack multiple codes?
The current integration uses license tiers rather than manual code stacking inside SocialBu. Complete any supported upgrade through AppSumo. SocialBu support cannot combine unrelated licenses or manually turn extra codes into a higher tier.
Can I attach an AppSumo license to an existing SocialBu account?
Yes. Start from the AppSumo activation flow and enter the email address of the existing SocialBu account. You must provide that account's correct password before SocialBu links the license.
Can I use a different email from my AppSumo purchase?
The SocialBu activation form can create or link a SocialBu account using the email you enter. Keep access to both your AppSumo purchase account and your SocialBu account, as support may need both email addresses to verify a licensing issue.
Can one license be used on multiple SocialBu accounts?
No. A license is linked to one SocialBu account. Use Teams and Team members to collaborate without sharing the account login.
Can I transfer my license to another SocialBu account?
There is no self-service license-transfer option. Contact SocialBu support with the current account email, intended account email, and AppSumo purchase details. A transfer is not guaranteed and may require additional verification.
Can I combine an AppSumo plan with a regular subscription?
Not through self-service billing. The AppSumo plan is tied to its license. Contact support if you need limits beyond your tier so the available plan options and the effect on lifetime access can be reviewed first.
Why do my limits differ from SocialBu's pricing page?
The public pricing page shows current monthly and yearly subscription plans. AppSumo tiers are separate promotional plans with their own entitlements. Compare your account with the AppSumo table in this article and the terms attached to your purchase.
Do unused monthly posts, AI credits, or listening items roll over?
No. Monthly allowances reset for the new month and unused allowance does not accumulate.
Are Team members counted once or per Team?
The member limit applies per Team. The Teams limit controls how many Teams the plan owner can create or own.
What happens when I reach a limit?
SocialBu prevents additional usage of the affected resource or pauses the relevant collection or generation activity. Existing resources may remain visible, but you may need to delete or disable something, wait for a monthly reset, or move to a plan with a higher limit.
Why is a feature unavailable even though my tier includes it?
Confirm that SocialBu shows the expected AppSumo tier, that the connected account is active, and that required network permissions are still granted. Network and account-type support also varies. If the tier is correct and the feature should be available, contact support with a screenshot and the affected account or feature name.
Are AppSumo add-ons supported?
Standalone AppSumo add-on licenses are not currently applied by SocialBu. Only the supported primary license tier is used for plan access.
What happens if I delete or disconnect a social account?
Disconnecting an account releases capacity for another connected account, but it does not restore posts or other monthly usage already consumed. Review scheduled content and automations before disconnecting an account.
Will my existing valid lifetime deal continue?
An active, redeemed license continues under its applicable deal terms while the product remains available and the account follows the terms of service. A refund, license deactivation, or unsupported account change can remove the plan.
What should I send to support?
Your SocialBu account email.
Your AppSumo purchase email, if different.
Your AppSumo license tier.
Your AppSumo order ID or purchase reference.
A screenshot showing the active purchase, tier, or mismatch.
The exact feature or limit that appears incorrect.
For your security, do not post a complete license key in a public community or screenshot.
