Fix: “Requires instagram_content_publish permission to manage the object” error in SocialBu

This error appears when Instagram has not granted SocialBu the required instagram_content_publish permission to publish posts for your account. It usually happens if some permissions were skipped or removed when you first connected your Instagram to SocialBu.

Follow one of these two methods to fix it (make sure you are logged into the affected Instagram account):

Method 1 – Keep all data in SocialBu (recommended)

• Open Instagram > Settings > Apps and websites / Website permissions.​

• Find SocialBu in the list and edit its permissions.

• Enable all permissions (or at least all publishing-related permissions).

This keeps your existing posts and settings in SocialBu and usually resolves the error immediately.​

Method 2 – Reconnect the Instagram account

Note: This method will remove all current data of your Instagram account from SocialBu (not on social platforms).

• In SocialBu, go to the Accounts page and remove the Instagram account that is causing the error.

• Click Add Account and connect it again.

• During the Facebook/Instagram login flow, grant all requested permissions, especially those related to managing and publishing content.facebook+1​

After completing either method, try publishing again from SocialBu—the error should be gone.
