Drafts let you save unfinished posts in SocialBu and return to them later before scheduling, publishing, queuing, or submitting them for approval.

When to use Drafts

  • Save a post that is not ready to publish yet.

  • Keep content for review or editing before choosing a publish time.

  • Review rejected approval posts that were moved back to Drafts with a rejection reason.

  • Prepare content without sending it to the approval workflow yet.

Save a new post as a draft

  1. Log in to SocialBu and go to Publish.

  2. Create a new post.

  3. Select the account or team accounts you want to use.

  4. Add the caption, media, link, and platform-specific options you need.

  5. Click Save as Draft.

SocialBu saves the post in Publish > Drafts.

Open and edit drafts

  1. Go to Publish > Drafts.

  2. Find the draft you want to edit.

  3. Click Edit or open the post's three-dot menu if the option appears.

  4. Make your changes in the post composer.

  5. Save the draft again, schedule it, publish it, add it to a queue, or submit it for approval depending on your workflow.

How drafts work with approvals

Drafts do not appear in Awaiting Approval. If a team requires approval, the approval workflow starts when a non-draft team post is submitted for scheduling or publishing by a member who does not have approval permission.

If an approver rejects a post, SocialBu moves it back to Drafts with the rejection reason. The creator can edit the draft and submit it again.

Move a scheduled or awaiting approval post back to Drafts

If you have permission to edit the post and it has not been published yet, you may see Save as Draft in the post actions or bulk actions. This moves the unpublished post back to Drafts so it can be edited later.

Important notes

  • Drafts are not published until you choose to publish, schedule, queue, or submit them through the required approval workflow.

  • Drafts do not enter Awaiting Approval automatically.

  • Published posts cannot be edited from SocialBu.

  • The actions available on a draft depend on your account, team permissions, and whether the selected accounts are still connected and active.

FAQs

Why is my draft not in Awaiting Approval?

Drafts stay in Drafts. Submit the post for scheduling or publishing under the correct team to start the approval workflow.

Can I edit a rejected post?

Yes. Rejected posts move back to Drafts with the rejection reason, so the creator can update and submit them again.

Can I delete drafts?

Yes, if you have permission to manage the draft, you can delete it from SocialBu before it is published.
