Review, Approve, Reject, or Edit Awaiting Approval Posts

How to manage posts waiting for approval in SocialBu, including editing, approving, rejecting, previewing, duplicating, saving as draft, and deleting.

Use Publish > Awaiting Approval to review team posts before they are scheduled or published. The actions you see depend on your team permissions and whether the post is still editable.

Open Awaiting Approval

  1. Log in to SocialBu.

  2. Go to Publish > Awaiting Approval.

  3. Find the post you want to review.

Approve a post

  1. Open the post in Awaiting Approval.

  2. Click Approve.

  3. SocialBu moves the post forward in the publishing flow.

If the scheduled time is in the future, the approved post appears with scheduled posts. If the scheduled time has already passed, SocialBu can publish it after approval.

Reject a post

  1. Open the post in Awaiting Approval.

  2. Click Reject.

  3. Enter the rejection reason.

  4. Confirm the rejection.

Rejected posts move back to Drafts with the rejection reason. The creator can edit the draft and submit it again.

Edit a post before approval

If you have permission to edit the post, click Edit. SocialBu opens the post composer so you can update the content, accounts, media, schedule, or platform options before the post is approved.

Use the three-dot menu

Open the post's three-dot menu for additional actions when available:

  • Preview: See how the post will look.

  • Duplicate: Create a copy of the unpublished post.

  • Save as Draft: Move an editable post back to Drafts.

  • Delete: Remove the unpublished post from SocialBu.

Bulk actions

You can select multiple editable posts and use bulk actions such as Save as Draft or Delete. Approval and rejection are handled one post at a time.

Important notes

  • Only users with Approve posts permission can approve or reject posts.

  • Posts will not publish while they are waiting for approval.

  • Rejected posts return to Drafts with the rejection reason.

  • Published posts cannot be edited from SocialBu.

FAQs

Can I approve multiple posts at once?

No. Approval and rejection are handled individually.

Can I edit a post after approval?

If the post is still unpublished and you have the required edit permission, you can manage it before it goes live.

Can I duplicate an approved post?

Duplicate is available for unpublished posts when the option appears in the post menu. Published posts show Republish instead.
