Use link shortening in SocialBu Composer

Learn how connected link shorteners work inside SocialBu Composer and what to check if a link does not shorten.

Use this article if your link shortener is already connected and you want to understand how SocialBu shortens links while composing a post. If you still need to connect Bitly, LinkMngr, or another supported shortener first, follow this setup guide: Connecting your link shortener in SocialBu.

  1. Open Post Composer in SocialBu.

  2. Select the social account or accounts you want to publish to.

  3. Add your post caption and paste the full URL you want to share.

  4. When the selected social account has a connected link shortener assigned, SocialBu automatically shortens the URL when the post is prepared for publishing or scheduling.

Before you publish

  • Make sure the same social account is selected in both Composer and the Link Shortener settings.

  • If you use UTM or query parameters, confirm they are configured in the Link Shortener settings before scheduling the post.

  • Preview your post before publishing so you can confirm the final link looks correct.

  • No link shortener is connected to the selected social account.

  • The post is being created for an account that was not assigned in the Link Shortener settings.

  • The connected Bitly, LinkMngr, or other shortener authorization has expired and needs to be reconnected.

  • The URL format is invalid or the destination URL is blocked by the shortening provider.
