Overview
Data placeholders let you reuse information from the trigger inside automation actions, such as post content, message text, RSS item details, or webhook request data.
Where placeholders can be used
You can use placeholders in supported text fields, including reply content, email subject or body, post content, queue post content, publish time, and HTTP request body.
Common placeholder examples
RSS item title, link, description, author, category, image, or media URL.
Incoming message content and media information where supported.
Published post content, media URL, and permalink.
Webhook request body.
Action output placeholders
Some actions export data that later actions can use. For example, an HTTP Request action can export whether the request was successful and the response body. These action placeholders are only available to actions that run after that HTTP Request action.
Tips
Use the Data Placeholders panel in the automation editor to copy the exact placeholder.
Test the automation and check history to confirm the placeholder output.
If a trigger does not provide a value, the placeholder may be empty.
