SocialBu’s AI Generate feature helps you create post captions and social media content quickly from a topic, idea, or campaign brief. Instead of writing every caption from scratch, you can enter a few details, generate a draft, review it, and then create or schedule the post from SocialBu.

This guide explains how to use AI Generate, how to get better results, and what to do if the generated content does not match what you need.

What AI Generate can help you create

You can use AI Generate to create:

  • Social media captions.
  • Post ideas for a campaign or topic.
  • Platform-ready post drafts.
  • Caption variations for the same topic.
  • Shorter or longer versions of a caption.
  • Captions with hashtags and emojis.
  • Content that can be edited before publishing or scheduling.

AI Generate is useful for announcements, product updates, educational posts, engagement posts, promotional content, event reminders, and regular social media planning.

Before you start

Before using AI Generate, make sure:

  • You are logged in to your SocialBu account.
  • You have access to the Generate feature on your plan.
  • You have enough Generate credits available if your plan uses credits.
  • Your team role allows you to create or edit posts.
  • The social account you want to post to is connected if you plan to publish or schedule the generated post.

The Generate feature is available on the Free plan with 60 credit points, and paid plans may include additional usage depending on your plan. If you are not sure about your limit, check your plan details or contact SocialBu support.

Accessing the Generate feature

  1. Log in to your SocialBu account.
  2. From the left-hand menu, click Generate.
  3. The AI Content Generator will open.
  4. Choose the content or post type you want to create.

From here, you can start generating captions and post content based on your topic.

Selecting the post type and platform

Start by choosing the type of post you want to create and the platform you are creating it for.

SocialBu supports multiple social platforms, including LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram, and other supported networks. Select the platform or social account that best matches where you want to use the content.

This helps AI Generate adapt the caption for:

  • Platform style.
  • Character length.
  • Tone and audience.
  • Formatting expectations.
  • Hashtag and emoji usage.

For example, a LinkedIn caption may be more professional and structured, while an Instagram caption may be more visual, friendly, and hashtag-focused.

Entering your topic

Next, enter the topic, idea, or theme for your post.

Your topic can be about:

  • A product or feature announcement.
  • A campaign.
  • A blog post.
  • A company update.
  • A discount or offer.
  • An event or webinar.
  • A trending topic.
  • A social media engagement question.

The more specific your input is, the better the generated caption will usually be.

Using suggested topics or keywords

Depending on the generator flow, SocialBu may suggest related topics, keywords, or ideas after you enter your topic.

You can:

  • Select one of the suggested options.
  • Continue with your original topic.
  • Adjust your topic to make it more specific.

Suggested topics can help when you are not sure how to phrase your idea or want a more focused caption.

Generating your caption

After selecting the post type, platform, and topic:

  1. Review your input.
  2. Click Generate.
  3. Wait for SocialBu to create the caption.
  4. Review the generated result.

AI Generate may include emojis, hashtags, a call to action, or platform-specific formatting depending on your selected options and prompt.

Reviewing the generated content

Before creating or scheduling the post, always review the generated caption.

Check:

  • Whether the caption matches your topic.
  • Whether the tone fits your brand.
  • Whether the length is suitable for the platform.
  • Whether hashtags are relevant.
  • Whether emojis are appropriate.
  • Whether any dates, prices, product names, or claims are correct.
  • Whether the call to action is clear.

AI Generate gives you a draft, but you should still review and edit it before publishing.

Regenerating or changing the result

If you do not like the first caption, you can generate another version or adjust your input.

Try changing:

  • The topic.
  • The tone.
  • The platform.
  • The target audience.
  • The length.
  • The call to action.
  • The keywords you want included.

You can generate multiple variations for the same topic and choose the one that fits best.

Creating the post

When you are happy with the generated caption:

  1. Click Create Post.
  2. SocialBu will open the post creation flow with the generated content.
  3. Select the social account or accounts where you want to use the caption.
  4. Add media, links, or other post details if needed.
  5. Review the final post.

You can still edit the caption after creating the post.

Posting or scheduling

After the post is created, choose what you want to do next:

  • Use Post Now if you want to publish immediately.
  • Use Schedule for Later if you want to choose a specific date and time.
  • Save as a draft if you want to review it again later, if that option is available in your workflow.

Scheduling generated posts helps you keep your calendar consistent while still reviewing content before it goes live.

Tips for better AI-generated captions

  • Give a clear topic instead of one or two words.
  • Mention the platform you are creating content for.
  • Include your target audience.
  • Add the preferred tone, such as professional, friendly, casual, witty, educational, or promotional.
  • Mention the goal of the post, such as clicks, signups, awareness, engagement, or sales.
  • Include any required keywords, product names, links, or offers.
  • Ask for a short caption if you need something concise.
  • Ask for multiple variations if you want options.
  • Review and edit every caption before publishing.

Example prompts

You can try prompts like:

  • Create an Instagram caption for a new product launch with emojis and hashtags.
  • Write a professional LinkedIn caption about improving team productivity.
  • Generate a short Twitter/X post announcing a webinar tomorrow.
  • Create a friendly caption for a discount campaign ending this week.
  • Rewrite this caption to sound more confident and polished.
  • Create three caption variations for a social media scheduling tool.
  • Write a caption with a clear call to action to book a demo.

Common questions and troubleshooting

I cannot find the Generate option.

Check the left-hand menu after logging in. If you still cannot see it, your plan or team role may not include access. Ask your workspace admin to check your permissions or contact SocialBu support.

Generate is asking for credits or says I do not have enough credits.

Your plan may include a limited number of Generate credits. The Free plan includes 60 credit points. If you run out, check your plan details or contact support to confirm your available options.

The generated caption is not relevant.

Make your topic more specific. Add the product, audience, goal, platform, tone, and any required keywords. A more detailed prompt usually creates a more useful result.
